Mary Antonette Lorenzo
Student in Quezon City, Philippines
Hey, I’m Mary Antonette. I’m a student living in Quezon City, Philippines. I am a fan of entrepreneurship, education, and sports.
My friends call me Maan. I am deaf. Ever since I started schooling, I enrolled in only one institution, which is here in Miriam College. Fortunately, MCSAID is very supportive on their students that they allow each and every one to do the things they think will help their students. I keep on joining and joining until performing in front of a crowd became easy for me. Since then, dancing has always been my happiness. It expresses my emotions that I cannot show because of the communication barrier that I have among all other people. I may not be able to use my mouth and speak about what I feel but dancing gives me the chance to show them to people. Through dancing, I can show people that even if I am different from them, I also have something or dancing skill that they may not have. Also through dancing, I have learned to socialize with other people because many would approach, interact with me, or even help me. I have become comfortable meeting new people in school that helped me a lot with communicating. Since I have learned to communicate with other people, I became closer and more open with my relatives.
