Originally from Jackson, MS, Mary B. Sellers lives and works in Seattle, WA, as a creative writing instructor and freelance writer. She is currently looking for content writing, copy editing, proofreading, and social media management opportunities.

Sellers holds a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Mississippi where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and Honors College Scholar, and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing with a Fiction emphasis from Louisiana State University, where she served as graduate prose editorial assistant for The Southern Review.

Her graduate thesis, a hybrid novel of stories, fairy tale vignettes, and memoir, RAPUNZEL HAS INSOMNIA, was a finalist for the University of New Orleans Publishing Laboratory 2018 Prize. Recently, her short story "The Other Mother" placed second runner up in Psychopomp Magazine's 2019 Summer Short Fiction Contest.

Sellers has over a decade of editorial and publishing experience, and worked for Blooming Twig Books as Associate Publisher for over a year before returning to school for her MFA in 2015. She's also held editorial internship positions for publications like The Southern Review, Mississippi Magazine, literary agent Michelle Brower of Folio Literary Management (NYC), Deep South Magazine, and Thacker Mountain Radio.

Sellers also has experience in social media management, digital marketing, and web content creation. A few of these experiences include serving as the Social Media Editor for New Delta Review Literary Magazine from 2016-2017 and being promoted to marketing manager for Blooming Twig's Facebook, Twitter, and blog. In these roles, she provided daily content curation and creation, worked on digital marketing campaigns, and was responsible for social media engagement and post scheduling.

Her short stories, creative nonfiction, essays, magazine articles, blog posts, and book reviews have appeared in a wide variety of both print and online publications. A few of these include: Flash Fiction Magazine, Young Professionals of Seattle, Seattle Arts & Lectures, Grimoire, Mississippi Magazine, Third Point Press, Sidereal Magazine, Crab Fat Magazine, Literary Orphans, Queen Mob’s Teahouse, The New Southern Fugitives, among others.
