Seattle

Born in Detroit and raised in an atmosphere of politics, art, and spirituality. I've lived throughout the United States collecting stories and telling them through my artwork.

Art is a window to human experience. As artists, we re-contextualize the world. I make art as a way to communicate the story of our times. My work combines images from nature with everyday objects to question and consider the stories of nature and human experience. I am interested in the intersection of nature and the human made, nature and the sociopolitical. I ask questions through a twist of materials to create a visual curiosity, to evoke the viewer to take a closer look, to feel or question the emotional, social, and psychological. The unexpected in art challenges our fundamental way of looking.

I like to travel, write, read, dance, listen to and occasionally make music, and cook. I'm married to the worlds best creative problem solver and partner in being the mother of a musician and a dancer. I'm interested in community arts, teaching, and social justice, and am currently partnering with friends to start an exhibition space in Seattle that shows challenging contemporary art. It's called Method. Come see us.
