Mary Wacuka Njeri
TV Producer | Director | Content Creator | Storyteller
Mary Wacuka is a dynamic and experienced television producer and director with a decade of experience in the Kenyan media industry. Known for her creativity, resilience, and compelling storytelling, Mary brings a strong blend of technical knowledge, production leadership, and emotional depth to every project she touches.
Her journey into media began in 2013 as a sound technician and screen controller at PCEA Church. In 2015, she stepped fully into the media space as a video editor and camera operator. Her passion and dedication quickly became evident, and by 2017, she joined Royal Media Services (RMS) as a breakfast and mid-morning show producer. However, feeling limited by a lack of growth opportunities, she took a bold step and joined a startup TV station—an experience that challenged her but also sharpened her ability to innovate under pressure.
After the startup closed, Mary joined TV47, where her career flourished. Starting as a director, she later became the producer of the station’s flagship program, Morning Café. Her return to TV47 in 2024 marked a strong comeback, bringing fresh ideas and a renewed commitment to producing content that matters.
In 2020, she was named Best Producer of the Year, and has produced two national general elections—navigating fast-paced, high-pressure productions with excellence. Under her leadership, Morning Café has improved guest quality, seen consistent growth in TV and digital viewership, and gained respect as a credible platform for thought leaders, creatives, and everyday Kenyans.
Mary has built strong partnerships with respected organizations such as NTSA, St John Ambulance, EABL, KRA, and others. She's also helped bring business to her station through client relationships with NIBS College, Mizizi Africa Homes, Kenya Safari Lodges, and more.
For Mary, media is more than just content—it’s connection. It’s about giving voice to the unheard, spotlighting real stories, and using television and film to inspire change.
