Mary Kara Bucci

A radiation oncologist at MD Anderson/Presbyterian Health System in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Dr. Mary Kara Bucci has over a decade of experience serving as a radiation oncologist and instructor in clinics and medical schools throughout the country. She was named among the best doctors in America in the 2007-8 and 2009-10 editions of Best Doctors in America, and was recognized as one of the best oncologists in America by America’s Top Oncologists in 2009, 2011, and 2012. Dr. Mary Kara Bucci first earned board certification as a radiation oncologist in 2003 and renewed her certification in 2013. Alongside her responsibilities as a physician, she serves as an assistant professor in the department of radiation oncology at the University of Texas.

Dr. Mary Kara Bucci is an alumna of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where she earned a BS in biomedical sciences and an MD. She completed her internship at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan, and completed a residency in radiation oncology at the University of Pennsylvania. She is an active member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO), and sits on the organization’s emerging technologies subcommittee.
