Mary McGuire Slevin

Mary McGuire Slevin has a multifaceted background across the Humanities. Performing as a musician, working in world renown art museums and traveling extensively throughout North America, Europe and Southeast Asia, Mary has developed a deep concern for art, architecture and music and how it expresses community.

She has a strong commitment regarding the history of place in a community expressed through its history, art, music and architecture from the past, present and future. It is her interdisciplinary skill set that sets her apart from the rest.

Most recently, Mary was selected as the Ecotourism Consultant for Shiga, Prefecture, Japan by the honorable Governor Yukiko Kada. She traveled around the Mother Lake, Lake Biwa meeting with tourism professionals and city leaders to assess current tourism issues and how to grow tourism while ensuring the ecology of place would be maintained.
