Hey there, I’m Melanie and I’m from Richmond Hill, Ontario.

I am a 4th year RTA Media Production Student at Ryerson University. One of my biggest accomplishments is that I did an internship at Sportsnet over the summer. The internship was for playback and video replay mainly for the Sportsnet Central talk shows as well as many Blue Jays Central shows. I also recently got hired there and will begin working in November. Therefore, I am excited to start my new job at Sportsnet.

Aside from that, I currently work at a doggy daycare called Pet Chateau. I enjoy that job very much as well and have a great passion for dogs. As seen in my website photo, I have a dog named Toby. He is a Maltese-Shitzu mix and although he doesn't enjoy daycare very much, I take him to work with me from time to time, in order for him to socialize.

At the moment, I will be working part-time/as a freelancer at Sportsnet until I finish school. My goal was to work at Sportsnet 10 years down the line, seeing as getting into the media industry is difficult. Therefore, this internship and job has put me 10 years ahead in my timeline. As mentioned, at the moment I will be doing video replay and playback, which I very much enjoy. These are all done out of the Sportsnet studio. One of my goals is to eventually start working out of the on-location trucks and doing instant replays as opposed to highlight packs and updates. I would also like to eventually become a live tv director. Therefore, there are many positions I would like to try within the live television industry, but for the time being, I am extremely happy with where I am at Sportsnet.
