Masande Ntlantsana
Student, Teacher, and Writer in Gauteng, Vaal
My name is Masande Ntlantsana, a 22 year old gentleman born in the Eastern and raised in Gauteng. I grew up believing that one day I will be a huge South African soccer star, but as I got older, I enjoyed reading books more than I did playing soccer. My love for reading novels helped me develop a very strong relationship with most of my English teachers, which is partly the reason why I chose to follow this career path. I believe that readers are leaders and I aim to groom young readers from a young age, who will become leaders in the future, this is why I chose to become an English teacher. I grew up in a family of five children, and I am the first born. If there is one thing I have learnt about being the first born in a family of five, it’s to be responsible and lead by example. It has also taught me to look out for others who are more vulnerable than I am, but most importantly, being a first born has groomed me to become the aspiring teacher that I am. I personally enjoy scrolling through Twitter, as I believe it is the best way to stay informed on the latest events and headlines occurring not only in South Africa but throughout the world. My other hobbies include playing board games such as chess, monopoly and 30 seconds. I personally enjoy these games because they are thought provoking and they encourage one to become a creative and critical thinker.
