During the Spring Semester of my freshman year of college, I made the decision of joining a fraternity, a choice I had been back-and-forth on since the first day I stepped on campus. Having an older brother that was in a fraternity in college, I knew that the process and meaning behind it was so much more than what the movies and news reports say. There are so many positive aspects of being in a fraternity, but by far the best aspect to me is how much it encourages you to become a leader and challenges you to be the best leader you can be.

RIght from the start, during the new member process I found a way to become a leader by running for and eventually winning the pledge class president position. With that position I was the main voice of a group of 16 new members and I single-handedly organized events for the fraternity as a whole. It was an increidbly rewarding experience and I can definitely say that recieving this position really fuled my fire into getting as many leadership positions as possible. I strive to make myself a leader within the fraternity every day.

The morning after I was officially initiated into the position I ran for, and won my first chair position, the role of fundraising chair. I unfortunately didn't understand just how difficult this position would be, but I loved the challenge. Raising money is difficult enough but raising money for a fraternity is beyond difficult. Yet I still had to lead and create and implement events that could generate any sort of revenue for the chapter. Regrettably, I failed more than I succeeded. I had one successful event out of the three that I planned. Yet still, this position was an extremely rewarding position because I learned first hand how to lead and delgate roles to a small group of people (my fundraising committee) and the fraternity as whole.

This past year I had the honor to be nominated onto an especially important committee within the fraternity. At the same time I also started working as a Resident Assistant on campus, a very important leadership position that I talk about more on my LinkedIn account. The main basis of the committee position is to make sure the fraternity as a whole is functioning as well as possible. Myself and the others on this board are some of the best leaders within the fraternity, and we look at every aspects of ourselves and our fellow brothers to make sure our future is as bright as possible.

I am always looking for ways to
