Mason Yu
Winchester, VA
Hello! My name is Mason Yu.
I am currently a freshman at Shenandoah University. I am a Music Education major and my main instrument is the clarinet. My future career plans are to be a middle or high school band director while teaching clarinet lessons privately.
I was born and raised in Woodbridge, Virginia. I recently graduated from Gar-Field High School in Woodbridge with the class of 2012.
I have with two sisters, two step sisters, a mother, father, and a step mother. Of all my siblings, I am the youngest.
I started playing music when I was seven-years-old with the piano. All three of my older sisters played and I wanted to be like them. Although I play the clarinet now, I did not start until very late in my budding career as a musician and teacher. I started playing percussion in sixth and seventh grade and switched to the Tuba in the eighth grade. I then picked up the alto saxophone his sophomore year in high school, but it was not until my junior year when I started playing the clarinet and decided it would be my main instrument.
Some of my hobbies are playing music and video games. I am not much of an athlete and am not the best at sports, so I do not enjoy playing very physical sport, but I do enjoy playing billiards casually. As a substitute for competitive sports, I occasionally compete in tournaments for the video game Super Smash Bros.
My favorite color is white, and it would be obvious to someone if they were to see my plethora of white possessions. Here just a list of some of the white things I own: white car, laptop, iPod, phone, cat, the list goes on.
Here is just a little bit about me,
Mason Yu
