Venezuela

I was born during the 1986 World Cup, maybe that explains why I love soccer so much. Before I liked soccer, I wanted to be a journalist. I am a very curious person and also quite sharp-eyed. With those two characteristics I justify my calling.

Events that impress me, are the ones that make me write better. That is why, my daily struggle is to try not to lose my sense of wonder. In writing I found a perfect outlet for sadness and injustice. So I write, never as often as I would like to do it.
I'm a pretty stubborn person, I like to achieve the goals that I intend. I am also extremely participatory. I always like to get involved. The values and principles that I received at home are the basis of the person I am today.

My career is full of dreams, some of them, I have reached. Many others are still missing or waiting to be accomplished. The day I got accepted at the school of Social Communication was a key day in my career. After months of preparation and study, I got a place at the university I wanted.

I studied journalism at the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas. My first job in the industry was at HBO. I was responsible of making movie spots. Nothing to do with news. That experience made me grow professionally and personally, because I realized that journalism was my thing. I had to try other branches of my career to realize what was my passion.
I’m used to change. I always try to use my communicative skills to adapt to any situation I encounter.

After graduating, I started working at El Nacional, as a reporter for the Ciudadanos section. I was in charge of covering news about people and their ways of living. At the time, Venezuela was facing an important water and electrical crisis, so I had to report a lot on those two matters. My editor, also trusted me to start covering the educational and universities crisis. Then I understood my job was not only a career but a social service. And that is how I see journalism.

I have a personal blog where I publish some of what I write. For example, a letter I sent to the Montblanc contest in 2008, where I was selected as runner up. I wrote a love letter to freedom.
In 2010 I applied for a place at a course for journalists called “El pulso y alma de la crónica” sponsored by Biggot. For the application I sent a chronicle I had written about Venezuela’s black friday. I got selected, with other 16 journalists to c
