Director in Kyiv, Ukraine
Strategic Leader | Sustainable Development & Humanitarian Operations | UNOPS Director
With more than 30 years of experience leading humanitarian and development operations in some of the world’s most complex conflict and post-conflict environments, I specialize in delivering large-scale programmes under pressure, mobilizing international partnerships, and strengthening institutions to achieve sustainable impact.
I currently serve as Director of the Multi-Country Office for Ukraine and Eastern Europe at UNOPS, overseeing strategic initiatives across Ukraine, Moldova, and Poland. Our work focuses on helping governments and partners rebuild infrastructure, strengthen public systems, and accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals.
Previously, I served as UNFPA Representative in Ukraine, Sudan, and Syria, and held senior leadership roles in global humanitarian response from Geneva. Throughout my career, I have worked across the United Nations system — including with UNDP, UNHCR, and international NGOs — leading complex operations in fragile and politically sensitive environments.
My leadership philosophy is grounded in three principles: Conviction, Courage, and Compassion. These values guide my approach to crisis leadership, humanitarian access negotiations, and building partnerships that place people and communities at the center of international action.
My experience spans crisis management, humanitarian coordination, post-conflict recovery, governance reform, and strategic partnerships, with a strong focus on operational delivery in high-risk environments.
