Massimo Garbuio
I am a Lecturer at The University of Sydney Business School.
My research lies at the intersection between strategic decision making and design driven innovation. In particular, it aims to help managers 1) to create an organisational environment that nurtures creativity and innovation and 2) grow their capacity to recognize promising innovative ideas.
My classes are taught using an experiential learning approach and a case study provided by a sponsoring company. The aim is to equip students with the tools needed to question the status quo as well as appreciate how to find and define problems and evaluate solutions. Therefore, instructions and feedback are targeted at nurturing students' critical and innovative thinking. My hope is that, by working with real problems and companies, students discover something new about how they think about problems and innovation.
