Pinda Kai Do: A summary of martial arts life experienceIt is not every day that you can bump into a master of martial arts from Africa who’s created his own style of combat based especially on other continents' techniques. He is Hanshi Franck Mpinda, nearly 50 years old, owner of several sport titles, but more known as Master Franck for his six black belts in different disciplines.With his 40 years of practice of many arts martial arts, Master Franck has acquired much experience on techniques of combat and defense.He told us: “It was when I became an examiner and qualified instructor in 1991 that the PKD’ structured teaching commenced. The idea of creating my own style which incorporate all combat sport techniques crossed my mind since young age, that why I did different martial arts style”.According to Master Franck, Pinda Kai do is a unique style that incorporates all his martial arts life experience. It is based on force, speed, precision, focus and balance so you can be in control when facing an adversary (control yourself to better control your opponent). For the insiders, he added: “ In fact, the practice and the knowledge of karate, boxing, jujitsu, Taekwondo, Aikido, wrestling and kick boxing, that are my strong points, have taught me how to channel their positive energy in a defensive technique of combat”. During the 1990’s and 2000’s, Master Franck has participated in various professional sport competitions like the Ultimate Wrestling Alliance (UWA), an association of professional wrestlers, and has been also the guest of many tv channels (OBE tv, BBC, CBBC,…)Today, his focus is on the establishment of his third school in the Republic of Congo(Brazaville) after the opening of the second one in Kinshasa( Democratic Republic of Congo. As well as teaching martial arts in his school the Pinda Kai Do School, Master Frank is also an IT and network engineer teaching IT in Tottenham College in London and director of Pkai security Ltd.“Despite my busy schedule, I still learn new techniques from Kung Fu or Stick Fight that I’ve been twice England vice Champion”.To conclude with us, Master Hanshi Franck Mpinda said that the dedication that it gives to his Pinda Kai Do has always helped him to not feel empty spiritually and feels that anyone that will practice Pinda Kai Do according to his teaching, will feel invincible and will live in harmony with himself.
