John Matejczyk

Known as a rare advertising creative who understands how to unleash creativity on a business problem, John founded MUH-TAY-ZIK | HOF-FER IN San Francisco in 2009. Previously, he had become one of the most sought-after freelance creative directors in the US. He re-launched Boost Mobile through 180 LA. He guided Snickers, Starburst, and Skittles at TBWA\Chiat\Day NY, and ran Miller Lite for BBH NY. Twice a part of Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, John was among the most highly awarded creatives at the agency while producing work for HP, Netflix, Adobe, Budweiser, Saturn, The Wall Street Journal, and got milk? His early digital work for HP won Goodby's first-ever round of awards in the interactive space, helping establish the agency and the client in the new media world. Matejczyk was also Group Creative Director at Fallon, Minneapolis. His first effort there, Citi's Identity Theft campaign, was named Adweek's Campaign of the Year, won the Emmy for Outstanding Commercial, and received the Gold Kelly for print. John also created H&R; Block's "Worried About Bill" campaign as Senior Vice President and Group Creative Director at Y&R; Chicago. It was declared the best campaign in the United States by the American Association of Advertising Agencies. John's work has received the top awards from every major show as both writer and creative director, from multiple agencies, in all media. Including 7 One Show pencils (5 of them gold) and Gold awards at the Clios, Kellys, ADDYs, Art Director's Club, AICP, and Cannes. John graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1989. He lives in Oakland, California with his wife and 3 children who are way too close in age.
