With over 13 years of experience in advertising and marketing communications, Mate is dedicated to help brands adapt to change by providing simple solutions to their complex challenges.

Over the years, he has worked at more than a dozen holding and independent agencies in London, Prague and Budapest (Publicis, DDB, Grey, Ogilvy, Saatchi & Saatchi, CDM, PAN and AS&K, just to name a few) on various global and local brands. This experience has provided him with in-depth insights into international advertising and brand communications, brand development, relationship management, agency operations, and project and team management.

While having gathered a large part of his professional experience in the pharmaceutical advertising and medical communications industry (Bayer Healthcare, Pfizer, Novo Nordisk, GSK, Colgate-Palmolive, Janssen, Gilead, AstraZeneca, Teva and Takeda), Mate has gained and retained a solid commercial and integrated marketing communications background (Heineken, L’Oreal, Nestle, Hewlett-Packard, Coca-Cola and UK Government).

In 2016, Mate founded Water Lily Pond, a 100% flexible, global marketing communications startup. Water Lily Pond is a tight-knit collective of international experts in branding, creative and tech development — all with an average of 10 years’ experience and niche skill sets. The team members have had the pleasure of working with some of the biggest global and local brands (BMW, IBM, Coca-Cola, Unilever, Pfizer, Vodafone, etc.) at leading ad agency holdings or independents (WPP, Omnicom, Publicis, Interpublic, etc.) around the globe.

Mate is a true free spirit who is open-minded, diplomatic, charming, independent, energetic and compassionate, and who craves creativity and freedom.

He has a global mindset; he spent part of his childhood in Algeria in the 1980s, and lived in Budapest, Prague and London in the early 2000s. Mate has travelled in many countries on four continents and explored S/SE Asia in 2013/14 for six months.

Mate is passionate about nature, space, cultures and people, and he loves house music, mystery movies, meditation, martial arts, calisthenics and point n' click adventure games, amongst many other things.

He’s a Hungarian native with fluent English, conversational French and basic German/Spanish language skills.
