Having spent twenty years in the German speaking part of Switzerland (St. Gallen, Olten, Zurich) working as a specialised journalist, chief editor of Computer Infos, Swiss Business Computing and Agrovision, Publisher of Orbit News Magazine and later as the head of public relations of Sunrise, Switzerland’s second most important telecommunications operator, he has a broad experience in information and telecommunication technologies, corporate and marketing communications and he is a skilled ambassador in the “Röstigraben-guerilla” war!
Mathieu acts as an interface and as an enabler beetween both French and German speaking parts of Switzerland. Mathieu left the french part of Switzerland in 1987 to study in St. Gallen. He set up his own Corporate Communications company in Heerbrugg in 1993 and a publishing company in 1995, first in Volketswil, Wallisellen and then in Le Mont-sur-Lausanne, which he ran until 2001. He has worked as head of Media & Public Relations for Sunrise Telecommunications from 2001 to 2007, when the company merged with its competitor DiAx Telecommunications.
In 2004 Mathieu obtained two diplomas of Director of communication from the Swiss PR insitute and from the Swiss Marketing and Advertising Insitute (SAWI). He also obtains a Federal Diploma of Higher Vocational Education as Head of Communications and a IAA Diploma in Marketing Communications. Mathieu was the chairman of the Swiss French speaking Society of Public Relations from 2006 to 2008 and a member of the board of the Swiss Public Relations Society from 2005 to 2008. He is a regular member of the jury in the Federal examinations on public relations and a lecturer at SPRI and SAWI Institutes. He is also member of the jury of the Swiss Award Corporate Communications as well as a member of the Swiss PR Professional Register.
From January to the end of November 2010 Mathieu was heading the corporate communications of BAT Switzerland. He also acted as spokesperson of the company.
