Mathilde Grand
Panama. New York.
I'm a French visual artist, resident of Panama for the last twelve years. I previously lived for eleven years in New York City. I started as a documentary photographer mostly in the Americas where I specialized in Natives Americans issues.
My inspiration takes its source in nature and landscapes, exploring the development that nature takes when you try to concise it in parcel. Nature will always fight to grow outside the frame. Neither could we tame and duplicate it. Colors is an important part of my visualization.
My works have been shown in New York City and Panama. Also known as a Chef specialized in Rainforest's produce, I believe my culinary abilities are another medium that support my creative process. Through each plates I work colors as an extention of flavors budding in the palate.

In 2006 I founded Citizens of Chocolate, a collective of indigenous women dedicated to the production of cacao in Panama.
