Mark L. Morelli received aB.S.E.E. from the University of Hartford in 1982 and recently retired after a32-year career as a reliability and test engineer in the building systems andmilitary/commercial aerospace industries, primarily at United TechnologiesCorporation (UTC).
His work was in the areas ofAccelerated Stress Testing (AST), including Highly Accelerated Life Test (HALT)and Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS), failure modes and effectsanalysis (FMEA), and field and test data analysis using Weibull and othertechniques. He is a past member of the planning committee for the IEEE CPMTAccelerated Stress Testing and Reliability (ASTR) Workshop.
He is also an adjunctprofessor at the University of Hartford, having taught engineering andmathematics courses there.
Today he is a freelancewriter focusing on a diverse range of topics, such as personal finance andinvesting, technology in politics, reliability and mathematics, and “off-the-beatenpath” travel. He also provides reliability engineering consultancy services andtraining programs to the industry and individuals.
