Whether it was watching or playing video games, they have been a part of my life since I was able to comprehend what was happening on the TV screen. I have two older brothers who were invested into video games, and eventually I became too. I grew up watching my brother Mike playing a game I couldn't handle, or we played together on something that was less scary or simplified to basic mechanics and objectives that I could perform to his standards. That was our bonding time as brother and sister. It was not until I was thirteen I was awarded my own Xbox 360, where I graduated from needing my brother to guide me to going on my own adventures and challenging myself to new tasks. I honed my skills and branched off into multiplayer gaming such as call of duty, occasionally playing a storyline game such as Skyrim here and there. Today, I still revolve around competitive multiplayer games such as Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege which is my main go to game currently. I pride myself on going against the first impression of gamers: the ideas of yes, I'm a female playing video games, and yes I'm actually really good at playing video games, as our gaming culture today still lacks the quantity of quality female gamers, but it has been a key aspect of my life.
