The world is big.
Me, I'm tiny. My handle, and the name of my design company is tinynow - and it means many things to me.
One of them is the importance of humility. Why is humility important? Because without it, we could not feel awe. To feel tiny is to know a big and awesome universe.
So, tinynow is also about awe. In particular, it is about awe over the elusive mystery of time. The present time to be more specific. Now is when everything happens but also when only this is happening.
It is so tiny, right now - impossibly small. So often we are projecting ourselves into Then or When and we miss now.
Nowness is a quality that all my favorite things evoke: The web - dreaming of 4.0 when 2.0 just happened - pushes now into the future, or maybe brings the future to now. When I garden, it is hard to stray from right now with my hands in the dirt. Writing. Teaching. Solving design problems. These things let me lose my self, the past and the future.
