Objective:

Work experience:

University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) January 2011- August 2012

Biopharmaceuticals Department- Lab Aid II-

  • Worked with live cell based assays to monitor and modulate the level of a protein of interest. Developed resistant cancer cell lines to standard of care chemotherapeutics.
  • Aliquoted general laboratory solutions, Operated under sterile and non-sterile conditions. Level One and Two biohazards were present and used in the laboratory.
  • Practiced and competent in a variety of bioinformatics and data analysis tasks including: siRNA microarray interpretation, tissue microarray, and high throughput cell based assays.
  • Maintained lab notebooks and other systems of documentation. Contributed to the lab's SOPs and relevant laboratory procedures.

Skills:

  • Knowledgeable in laboratory safety techniques and waste disposal procedures.
  • Competent in live cell work, including adherent and suspension cells, cancer and primary cell lines.
  • Experienced utilizing techniques in the basic manipulation of nucleic acids and proteins: PCR, RTPCR, Site directed mutagenesis, Western Blot, Northern Blot.
  • Competent in a variety of cytotoxity assays: MTT, MTS, Resazurin, and Horsche dyes.
