I am interested in research integrity, publication ethics, open access publishing, and peer review, as a freelance consultant.
I am Head of Editorial at the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), on the council of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and Treasurer of the European Association of Science Editors (EASE).
I worked at Hindawi in London from 2016 to 2022 as Head of Research Integrity and then Head of Editorial Policy and Ethics. I was a Senior Editor at PLOS ONE, 2010-16, and an editor with the BMC-series journals at BioMed Central 2003-09. I was a Research Integrity Manager at the charity UKRIO 2022-24, advising and educating researchers and institutions about best practice, and managing social media.
I was runner-up for mentor of the year at AuthorAID in 2016 and I was a Quora Top Writer 2018. I'm also a Wikipedia admin and a Cambridge Green Party member.
