Matt Lozar

Buffalo, New York

In his ninth year at Canisius College, Matt Lozar currently serves as an assistant director of athletic communications as well as an adjunct assistant professor.

He works directly with the women's basketball, baseball and volleyball programs. Serving as the athletic department's social media coordinator, Matt handles a variety of outlets, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Whether running home games or traveling with the athletic teams, Matt is in charge of handling press releases, recording statistics and fulfilling media requests for the selected athletic teams.

After earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, the Cleveland, Ohio native moved to Buffalo, N.Y. to pursue a Master's Degree in Sport Administration from Canisius. While earning that degree, Matt served as a graduate assistant during his first year and then as a full-time employee during his second year.

In his four years at Notre Dame, Matt earned a bachelor's of business administration degree from the world-renowned Mendoza College of Business. Matt worked at The Observer, the independent student newspaper. He covered a variety of sports teams, including the football and men's basketball programs. During his senior year, Matt worked as the editor-in-chief of the newspaper, managing a staff of 15 and leading a staff of 150 for the publication that produced five days per week.

Matt is a member of CoSIDA and ECAC-SIDA. He has promoted five student-athletes to become Academic All-Americans.
