Matt Rafter

Dublin, Ireland.

I'm a twenty-somethingish musician based in Dublin, plying my trade as a cellist and conductor.

Just wrapped up touring as cellist with Hozier. Previous convictions include Heathers, Kodaline, The Riptide Movement, Come on Live Long, Amanda Palmer, Nella, Rachael Lavelle.

Regular cellist and chief arragner for Vltava String Quartet. Other classical stints have been served with Trinity Orchestra, Esker Festival Orchestra, and the County Kildare Orchestra (as soloist and ensemble).

Conductor and co-founder of Dublin-based Téada Orchestra, a collective of string players bent on serving up high-quality music at chilled out performances. Previous conducting endeavours include leading Trinity Orchestra through orchestral renditions of Pink Floyd and Michael Jackson.

I also sing in a choir, the Mornington Singers. Awaiting my first big solo number.
