Matt Derella
Matt's enjoyed his past 5 years at Google where he now leads a team responsible for cultivating Google's relationships with agencies across the U.S. The mission of his team is to work with agencies to create and deliver magical moments to our shared clients, customers, and users. Prior to his current role, Matt led a team focused on growing Google's video advertising partnerships with agencies and clients.
Before joining Google, Matt worked at The Weather Channel companies where he was Director of Integrated Marketing and later Vice President of Sales. As a direct result, he can happily point out the differences between Cumulonimbus and Nimbostratus cloud formations (in either case, have an umbrella handy).
In 2006, Matt founded, and now co-chairs, CAREOKE for the KIDS, a media-industry karaoke event that has raised more than $1M+ for The Valerie Fund, an organization dedicated to helping children with cancer and rare blood disorders. As part of the event, people from across the media landscape perform on-stage at Fillmore East in front 1,000+ of their peers to raise funds to support The Valerie Fund. He is also an active board member of CareerGear, an organization that helps men to rejoin the workforce.
Matt graduated from Georgetown University and lives in Manhattan with his incredible wife, Melissa, and their son, Dylan.
