Matt has vigorously continued to deepen his knowledge and skills related to serving his patients, taking courses ranging from treating severely worn teeth to becoming certified in oral conscious sedation. Ultimately, his favorite part of practicing dentistry is making lasting connections with patients and their families, as he believes treating patients with respect, kindness, and a listening ear is the key to good health care.

Matt, his wife, and daughter are very active people, and he spends most of his free time hanging out with them in love, laughter, and recreation. According to his daughter, he is the "silliest daddy ever," and many children know Matt simply as "Monkey Boy." As for hobbies, he enjoys writing creatively and reading studiously for his own edification and entertainment. He also studies shogi (Japanese chess) and delights in tinkering around with backwoodsman skills, such as making a shepherd's sling from cordage or using a bow-drill to make fire.

Overall, Matt is very curious about, well, pretty much everything, and he sincerely enjoys learning new things. In his happiest moments, Matt is out and about, deeply engaged with his wife and daughter while they inquire, discover, and absorb.
