Matt Heck

Matt Heck is the Co-Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Sentynl Therapeutics, Inc. as well as a member of the Board of Directors. Prior to Sentynl, he co-founded Victory Pharmaceuticals and serving as the President and CEO, in addition to acting as a member of the board of directors during that time as well. He later began the process of founding Sentynl Therapeutics, Inc. The breadth of knowledge required in founding a pharmaceutical company was acquired over years of experience that come from such a long-standing career in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.

Matt Heck brings years of experience and expertise to the organization, having formerly worked as Vice President of Sales at a company called Biovail Pharmaceuticals. He joined the company in 2000 at the time that it acquired DJ Pharma, and there, he helped develop and manager commercial operations in the United States, built on a foundation of more than 650 employees and combined revenues of a variety of products reaching more than $300 million annually. These were a wide-ranging portfolio of anti-viral, CNS and respiratory, and cardiovascular products.

DJ Pharma, of which Matt Heck was an employee from the company’s inception, held him in the position of Vice President of Sales before becoming a part of Biovail Pharmaceuticals. During his tenure at DJ Pharma, he grew and managed a team of three hundred salespeople in the United States. In addition to his sales team, he was also pivotal to the integration and commercialization of anti-infective and respiratory products in a diverse portfolio acquired and in-licenced during his career with DJ Pharma.

He began his career graduating with a B.A. in Marketing from the University of South Carolina, and after school began working for Dial Corp. as an account manager. He then went on to work for Dura Pharmaceuticals in sales. His career grew from there, and he held many positions at Dura, growing from Sales, to Sales Management, to Marketing Management, and Managed Care Marketing. Additionally, he has been, and still is currently, a member of the Highland Therapeutics Board of Directors since 2010.
