Matthew Crispin is a western Kentucky short story author, in his middle twenties. He has been know for releasing work sporadically, over the past few years, each time with changes occuring in his style. However he is known for use of internal character created scenes shuch as day dreams, memory, or other meathods of creating with character driven over active imagination scenes. His works are also known for introverted characters, tone/speed fluctuations, and minimalistic dialogue that is often short of addressing what charactersare meaning. Mr. Crispin has preference for containment so he often uses isolation to create a "Chamber" like atmosphere, he claims probably stemmed from his love of Bergman films. However this generally serves only to isolate and minimize aspect of his stories. The characters often are held in multiple realities; memory, imagination, dream, and reality making the story larger but held in their own view. He likes to blur those reality lines so that either the reader or the characters loose thier understanding of reality for brief moments, claiming everyone has their own reality. Mr. Crispin, as is somewhat common among Kentucky writers, also is prone to the use of small folk tales within his larger stories.

Mr. Crispin has a novella and novel currently being written, with the novella expected to be completed in the Autumn of 2017. Short stories have appeared in various reviews, see links below for most recent.
