I started my career working as a web dev and systems administrator at a local interactive shop/internet service provider. Then I moved into trading systems operations for a major multinational financial firm.

After nearly fifteen years in finance, I'm now running my own shop - Parallel Theory - using what I've learned about high-performance applications, production support, and automation, to help cloud- and internet- based organizations scale up to meet ever increasing demand.

In the midst of that chaos I've found having a hobby helps keep myself grounded, and engaging in a proper craft can be particularly rewarding. And there's really nothing like a cold, refreshing beer at the end of a long day!
