Matt Reed

Matt Reed busted into the Seattle music and theatre scene in 2009. His early achievements include awards in Regional and State Solo Ensemble as well has holding a principal chair in the Tacoma Youth Symphony. At age 17, Matt Reed was selected to participate in the David Diamond Young Composers Workshop where he studied with Samuel Jones, the previous composer in residence of the Seattle Symphony. As composer he has collaborated with Salt Horse choreographer Corrie Beffort, in Cut Chalk which premiered at On The Boards. Other collaborations include various projects with playwrights Katherine Jett and Kelsey Wilk, directors Timothy McCuen Piggee, Rick Smith and Kathleen Collins. As a vocalist and instrumentalist Matt Reed has performed alongside Ross Hauck, Stephen Stubbs, Roger Nelson, Tekla Cunningham, Jillon Dupree, Maxine Eilander, Jovino Santos Neto, David Klose and Mary Lambert. He is a frequent member of the acapella vocal ensemble led by Composer and Conductor Eric Banks, called The Esoterics. Matt is studying at Cornish College of the Arts to receive a Bachelors of Music in Classical Vocal Performance and Music Composition with a sub emphasis in Playwriting and Directing.
