My current title is Assistant District Commissioner for Zane Trace district in the Muskingum Valley Council, Boy Scouts of America. I've been a member of the BSA for over 32 years. I am an Eagle Scout and received the Vigil Honor and the Founder's Award for the OA. In 2010 I was awarded the Silver Beaver.

I graduated from Maysville High School. In 1994 through 1997 I attended the Hocking College School of Natural Resources and Ecological Sciences where I studied Ranger Services. Towards the end of my time at Hocking I graduated from the National Ranger Training Institute and then graduated from the Police Academy at Muskingum Area Technical College (now Zane State).

I am a General class Amateur Radio operator, call sign KC8BEW. I received my license in the fall of 1995. I was the Emergency Coordinator for Muskingum County in the Amateur Radio Emergency Service in 2009 & 2010. I am also a founder of Scout Camps on the Air, SCOTA
