I was born in Borgess Hospital, a hospital my father worked at the time, in Kalamazoo, MIchigan. I loved the winters there, and I can still remember the time we got 120 inches of snow. It was unreal, but I don't think I enjoy it very much now because I didn't have to shovel any snow or deal with the mobility issues that caused. We moved to Georgia when I was in first grade, and I became obessed with baseball. I collected thousands of cards (which I still own) and even got to throw the first pitch out at a Braves Game once (probably the most memorable expierence in my entire life). My interest in Baseball faded as I realized i wasn't very good, and I became a lot more obssessed with movies, which I still am.

Movies are a huge part of my life. My brothers both work in the entertainment business: one as a senior writer for Entertainment Weekly, and as a producer for E news/scriptwriter. I grew up watching a lot of movies - mostly not age appropriate for me at the time. Here's a list of a movies I will put down pretty much anything I'm doing and watch them on the spot.

Good Will Hunting - It's crazy to believe that this movie was actually written by both Matt Damon and Ben Affleck as well as starred in. I really love the dialogue between Matt Damon and Robin Williams - "I gotta go see about a girl"

Goodfellas - Martin Scorsese is just an incredible director who really understands his craft. It's soundtrack is one of my favorite because I love the Rolling Stones (Sympathy for the Devil linked above)

Unforgiven - Clint Eastwood's restart of the Western Epic really is amazing. Gene Hackman, Clint Eastwood, and Morgan Freedman really put on a show.

City of God - Part of my inspiration to want to volunteer in some of the more 3rd world countries in the world, it's a grippling look at the life of two kids growing up in Rio de Janiro.
