Matthew Wright
Matthew Wright is currently the Simulation and Technology Specialist for Duke University School of Nursing in the Center for Nursing Discovery (CND) located in Durham, NC. Using a student-centered approach, the Center for Nursing Discovery provides a variety of avenues of instructional methodology, including simulation using high fidelity (or "lifelike") adult and pediatric mannequins, role-playing, self-instructions, faculty-assisted instruction, procedural task trainers to develop specific hands-on skills, standardized patients (trained actors), and the use of innovative, state-of-the art multimedia.
With a Master's degree in Information Technology Mr. Wright hopes to expand on his career in healthcare simulation technology by continuing to provide simulation-based training to future nurses and physicians to improve their skills in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. With over 7 years of experience in healthcare simulation he has designed several new state-of-the-art simulation labs which include the labs at East Carolina University College of Nursing, Duke University School of Nursing, and Fayetteville Technical Community College School of Nursing.
