Matthew Bozin
Writer in Los Angeles, California
Trained as a copywriter, I graduated college and, after a short stint writing at an ad agency in Washington D.C., and press releases in Baltimore, I ventured west to the hallowed halls of Hollywood. Well, maybe less of a hall, and more of a hill bisecting the smog from the ocean. It's a nice hike to the sign, anyway. I studied screenwriting and long form writing in school and have spent more than a decade in the City of Angels writing feature screenplays, including a book adaptation for director Tom Shadyac (Ace Ventura, Liar Liar, Bruce Almighty etc.) as well as a short film co-staring James Garner. I've had some success over the years, winning the Script Pipeline Screenwriting competition in 2011, as well as becoming a finalist in the same contest in 2013, with a finalist showing sandwiched in between for the Scriptapalooza competition in 2012. Similarly, I won a fellowship with the Writers Arc, and placed in the Semi-Finals of the prestigious Nicholl Fellowship in 2008. I have several projects currently in development as well, including one with director Walt Becker (Wild Hogs, Chipmunks 4 etc) attached to helm.
As my writing developed, I've also taken professional jobs in Hollywood, most of which have transitioned into writing assignments for various projects. I began writing celebrity bios while working at Viewpoint Inc., a talent PR Agency in Beverly Hills, creating bios for the likes of Kevin Hart, Matt Damon and Dwayne Johnson among many others. After Viewpoint, I began working for an advertising tech-startup where I've continued to write professional bios for senior and executive staff.
If my feature screenwriting skills have taught me anything, it's the value of story, and that each individual has their own. It's time for me to leave that dark room, where my creations come from my own imagination, and find those stories in the real world. So, if you're looking for a professional bio, let's find your story.
