Matthew Carluccio, an award-winning Executive Producer with NBC, has spent nearly thirty years working in broadcast journalism, where he has become known for his steady leadership and strong editorial skills. His career includes significant contributions to Dateline NBC, TODAY, Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist, and NBC News Specials. Through his work, he has built a reputation for producing high-quality news content that is both accurate and compelling, earning recognition throughout the industry.

Matthew is highly regarded for his ability to manage large production teams and make clear decisions during fast-moving news events. These awards highlight his talent in areas such as writing, breaking news, and overall journalistic excellence.

Carluccio grew up in Toms River, NJ, where his early curiosity and the influence of his parents’ careers in law and psychology encouraged him to pursue a career in journalism. After attending a boarding school in Pennsylvania, he went on to Clark University in Massachusetts, where he studied Political Science and Psychology. His studies provided insight into how individuals and institutions operate, shaping his understanding of how stories could be told for the benefit of audiences. In 1993, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and moved to New York City to begin his professional journey.

His first step into television was as an Assistant to the Executive Producer at King World TV. There, he learned the fundamentals of media production while working alongside experienced executives. Matthew soon joined NBC as an Associate Producer for Dateline NBC, where he worked on investigative projects, general assignments, and long-format stories. During this time, he developed strong skills in reporting, editing, and field production, including international assignments that covered significant events in the Middle East, as well as high-profile trials in the United States.

In 2005, he joined the TODAY brand, producing field assignments around the world. His work took him to diverse locations, including Cuba, Belize, the Vatican, and even Antarctica, where he helped deliver the first live network news report from the South Pole. Matthew Carluccio also produced coverage of several Olympic Games, starting with the 2006 Winter Games in Torino and continuing through the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing.
