Matthew is a self-represented actor, writer and improviser currently living in Toronto, Ontario. At sixteen, Matthew began acting in his hometown of Antigonish, Nova Scotia with The Bauer Theatre, performing in numerous local theatre productions from 2005 to 2011. Since relocating to Toronto, Matthew has been a regular face on the local improv comedy scene. In the summer of 2015, Matthew was part of a puppet musical production that toured the Ottawa, Toronto and Winnipeg Fringe festivals. His character work in "Heart Puppetations" also received critical acclaim from Margaret Sulc at "Mooney on Theatre."
Matthew's film and television experience includes appearances on Anarkali (romantic comedy web-series), Hans & Rudy's Dinner Party (comedy web-short), Right as Rain (Sheridan College) and a supporting role in Secret Santa (independent horror-comedy feature).
He has received training from Neptune Theatre, Make’Em Ups Improv Company, Bad Dog Theatre, The Social Capital Theatre, The Second City Training Centre, Filmworks Casting (John Dunsworth) and with Red Nose Clown (John Beale). He is currently training in improvisation, dialect work and character voices for animation.
