Who am I really? When I ask myself this, the first thing that comes to mind is a yoga mat. Not because I’m soft and comfortable or because of my flexibility and multiple traits and uses. Although, this certainly may be true! No, more because of what the Yoga mat represents to me. Because, like the art of Yoga, I am a process which, as soon as I am defined in concrete terms, quickly becomes something more complex and unexpected when you least suspect it. I am the subtle and intricate introspection that comes with my Zen meditation and the outspoken confidence that resides in my leadership positions in student organizations and philanthropic activities. Eating mostly vegan with an addition of fish is designed to specifically control my energy levels and create a foundation for the health which resonates through my body and life. I listen to a variety of music ranging from hip hop artists like Eminem to rock bands like Muse and the electronic music of Armin Van Buuren. I pick my music very carefully and it is sometimes hard to find something I like because of the necessity of being vocally inspirational as well as musically talented. I balance myself through creative aspects like my expression through marketing and graphic design work. I structure my life through daily rituals involving reading my life goals, visualizing achievement and my healthy eating and thinking habits which allow me to start my day off right, every day. I create variety in my life through friendships, relationships and activities like swing dancing, world travel and skills development. My passion for life and serving humanity is explicitly recognized through the business I’m creating and the values and ethics that direct my life. Every time I move, I donate at least 30% of the objects I own. I read non-fiction to constantly innovate and grow my ideas and habits. Mixed martial arts helps me to focus my mentality and give me the mental fortitude to always go after what I want. I like to try things I’ve never experienced before and my guilty pleasure consists of blueberry granola (mmm, its good!). I am a writer, a thinker, a challenge and a solution. I strive to be the highest and best form of myself that I can be. I am and I always will be… me.
