Matthew Deets
President and Director of Operations at Impact Training Center in Wausau, Wisconsin
Matthew Deets has built his life around a simple yet powerful goal: helping people take meaningful steps forward. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Financial Coach, and President and Director of Operations at Impact Training Center, LLC, he applies his experience across different fields to support others in practical and personal ways. Each role he has taken on reflects a consistent commitment to service, growth, and steady leadership.
His journey began in the small town of Weyauwega, Wisconsin, where early experiences shaped his understanding of community and responsibility. After graduating from high school in 2006, he pursued a degree in Psychology at the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, with an emphasis on human services. He graduated Summa Cum Laude, earning both academic and leadership honors, including the Chancellor’s Leadership award. His education continued with a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, laying the groundwork for a people-centered career rooted in compassion and structure.
He began his professional work as a Residential Therapist, supporting young individuals through complex challenges. His ability to lead and connect with clients soon brought opportunities for advancement. He assumed supervisory roles and later worked as a Clinical Coordinator, overseeing care systems and supporting the teams. In addition to full-time positions, he served part-time with several other counseling centers, developing specializations in trauma therapy and offender risk evaluation. His clinical training includes trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, Brainspotting, and motivational interviewing—all evidence-based approaches that help clients address emotional barriers and build healthier paths forward.
In 2023, he added another dimension to his work by becoming a certified Financial Coach through Ramsey Solutions. He founded MatthewjRPC, LLC, through which he provides coaching services to individuals, couples, and families. His coaching blends practical financial tools with the insight of a counselor, creating a space where clients can work through both emotional and economic challenges. He also volunteers to lead Financial Peace University classes and helps train other coaches, particularly in areas where mental health and motivation intersect with money management.
