Matthew E. Hlavsa

An air traffic controller for the Federal Aviation Administration in Oberlin, Ohio, Matthew E. Hlavsa is responsible for monitoring and controlling the flow of air traffic, communicating with pilots to provide instructions during takeoffs and landings, and keeping track of aircraft as they fly from one destination to another. Furthermore, he manages emergency situations and unscheduled traffic. Matthew E. Hlavsa graduated cum laude from the University of North Dakota, where he earned a bachelor of science in aviation. Previously, he attended Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, where he studied education.

Beyond his professional obligations, Mr. Hlavsa is an avid sports fan. As a resident of Ohio and self-professed die-hard Cleveland fan, he cheers for all the city’s teams. Moreover, he holds season tickets with the Cleveland Browns.

In addition to enjoying sports in his spare time, Matthew E. Hlavsa enjoys cooking, fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family.
