Hello! My name is Matthew Smith. I am a full time musician but a life long learner. If you're not learning then you're not progressing! I started drums at the ripe age of nine and have been playing ever since. I have a passion for focusing on the fundamentals of reading music as well as just playing it. As a 2012 graduate of Cal State Fullerton I continue to pursue my passion for music as a both as a drummer and trombone player, of which i've played with big name artists like Grammy award winner Bill Cunliffe, trumpet player Terrel Stafford, alto saxophonist Dick Oatts, trombonist Andy Martin and many other top jazz artists. Currently I play trombone in a Funk/Soul group called Bedford Grove. we've played with acts like John Ledgend ,Macy Gray, The Upstarts and more. Be it Rock, Jazz, Latin or any other type of music I feel confident in saying I can teach you what you want to learn and have fun doing it!
