Throughout my whole life, I have had one best friend. However, we did not meet like most people. We were not in the same kindergartner class nor the same middle school. We never actually went to the same school. We met in Northside Hospital on January 11, 2000, which was the day he and I were born. No, we are not twins. Coincidentally, my mom and his mom happened to have given birth three hours apart on the same day in neighboring rooms. Our moms’ have been best friends since college, and we have been best friends since birth. Growing up, we practically did everything together. We practiced the same religion, played sports at the same park, and swam at the same pool. I would always look forward to the summer not only because it meant getting out of school, but it meant that I would be able to hang out with him. As he and I grew older, we began to separate. He went to St. Francis high school in Roswell and began focusing on basketball, while I went to Marist high school in Brookhaven and began focusing more on football and lacrosse. I began hanging out with my high school friends and girlfriend more, and he began hanging out with his. But through it all, we have always been there for one another and have remained best friends while we are at different colleges now too.
