Heya, I’m Matt.

I’m a Hacker, Mentor, Vulnerability Researcher and Developer living in Leeds, UK.

I’ve worked in the cyber security field for over two decades and have been responsible for delivering BAU Penetration Testing and Red Team Engagements, aswell as Digital Forensics/Incident Response and Cyber Consultancy services/training for clients across a range of public and private sector firms within Europe and the Americas.

I also mentor testers and educate students of the field in vulnerability research and exploitation.

After my experiences in the private cyber security industry, I’m currently driven to improve organisations’ cyber security incident response capabilities and experience in the age of assumed breach, and help secure the private information of as many people as I can.

I’m also the Co-Founder of Leeds DEFCON Group (@_dc151); which is a monthly gathering of infosec professionals and students from both the offensive and defensive security teams, aswell as a regular speaker, panellist, and all round security bod/infosec nerd.

Aswell as a number of CVE’s, vulnerabilities and exploits released over the years, I’m most well known for the “Herculean efforts” involved in bringing SMB file sharing capabilities to the Metasploit project - https://blog.rapid7.com/2015/03/12/weekly-metasploit-wrapup-43/

I am currently employed as a Senior Security Engineer at a large fruit based firm; working on solving security problems through code first, deployment pipeline approaches.
