Matthew Harms
Writer, Life Coach, and Public Speaker in NY
Introducing Matthew Harms, Success Coach and Professional Writer in NYC
Matt understands the unique opportunities and challenges presented to aspiring writers and struggling authors. A certified life coach and success coach for youth in NYC he has more than ten years of experience working with social enterprises, start-ups, charities, and corporate philanthropy. He has partnered with many professionals, authors, and creatives as a consultant, speaker and writing subject matter expert.
After completing his BA in Finance in 2003 from Iona College, Matt began a banking career with well established nationwide banking institutions where he clarified his passion for corporate social responsibility and developed a commitment to helping local organizations consciously make a meaningful impact to those individuals and populations that are underserved.
He has previously served on the Board for YMCA Bronx Branch. His passion for coaching and self-development grew out of his childhood experiences of witnessing his family's working-class struggle to survive and thrive in NY, as well as his own struggles to “prove himself” as an adult in a world that didn’t encourage creative arts as a profession.
Matt is a published author. He enjoys cooking (especially barbeque and potatoes), generating ideas, working on the great American novel, the occasional movie script and coming up with interesting entrepreneurial schemes. He currently lives in Yonkers with his family.
