Matthew Hinterlong

A staff scientist with Environmental Health & Engineering, an environmental engineering consulting firm based in Needham, Massachusetts, Matthew Hinterlong has an extensive background as both an engineer and project manager. At Environmental Health & Engineering, his duties have included analyzing indoor air quality in health care settings via a remote monitoring program with 23 stations. Previously, Matthew Hinterlong worked in Iraq and Afghanistan as a senior and lead cost specialist contractor with the U.S. military. In this role, he led the development of task order proposals and managed theater-wide budgets that involved hundreds of millions of dollars.
Mr. Hinterlong graduated from Utrecht University with an MSc in sustainable development, energy and resources track, for which he wrote his thesis on rooftop solar PV development policy. He is an IREC Certified Solar PV Professional and Certified Solar Thermal Professional.
Matthew Hinterlong enjoys traveling and experiencing new cultures. His hobbies include playing golf, skiing, tennis, and soccer.
