Matthew Holler

Originally from Buffalo, NY Matthew Holler is currently living and working in Sarasota, Fl as a portrait and fashion photographer while studying at Ringling College of Art and Design. Matthew is pursuing his BFA in Photography and Digital Imaging. His lifelong obligation to photography and the fashion industry began late in his high school career, stemming from a deep and consistent appreciation for the arts.

“I love fashion. I love the vibe, the energy and the effort that goes into each shoot. Fashion is the collaboration of a multitude of artists and visionaries all coming together to produce one final body of work. It is this collaboration that excites me.”

During his time in Sarasota, Matthew has worked with several generous garment and jewelry designers, and helped organize a runway show and exhibition promoting fashion at his college in 2009. In fall of 2010, Matthew held an exhibition of his own fashion photography at HuB Sarasota, collaborating with several local arts and creative visionaries including E Marie clothing designer, Eliza Torres.

Matthew’s work has been exhibited in the PH_ashion121 exhibition at Ringling College, as well as Ringling College of Art and Design’s Best of Ringling in 2009 and 2010 and his departments annual Photo Show in 2009 and 2010.

“I want to make work that really stands out and pleases people. I want my audience to feel something about the work the way I do through every part of the creative process. My work is very much about aesthetic, styling, and the way bodies work with the materials they adorn and the spaces they inhabit.”

In the past year, Matthew has had the great fortune of working with talented fashion designers in Sarasota and abroad, performing artists, local magazines and companies.

“My photos have been described as escapism. Not only do they mimic the places I long to be, they are also an escape from the everyday.”
