Matthew Lew

Hi, my name is Matthew and I'm a writer for the Skyline Student News Organization, The Spartan Forum. I have a generally shy personality but I'm never afraid of having a conversation. I have not always enjoyed writing, but I've accepted the challenge of trying to continuously improve and have began to enjoy it more and more each year. Outside of writing, I enjoy playing baseball and spending time with family.

My journalistic style involves telling the stories of people that would typically not be heard. I try and accomplish this by providing a unique perspective to topics that seems simple or straightforward. I also strive to show humanity in my articles and to give people a voice.

My biggest takeaway from Journalism was learning the importance of talking to those within my own community. I've had the wonderful opportunity to talk to some old friends as well as meet new people and tell their stories. I am genuinely grateful for all the conversations I've had while researching for articles.
