Matthew Ludwick is a man of many passions, who gives every endeavor he's involved with his all, whether that be as a fitness professional, parks & recreation professional or MMA fighter.

Matthew Ludwick's experience with parks and recreation started in 1998, when he was still in high school. From 1998 until 2003, he worked with the City of Winchester, starting out as a lifeguard before he climbed up the ladder to become the Assistant Manager of Aquatics. Later, between 2012 and 2014, he worked as the Recreation Specialist for the Parks and Recreation Department in Virginia Beach.

The "recreation" side of Parks & Recreation ties in with fitness, another one of Matthew Ludwick's great loves. While studying at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA he worked as the manager of the Recreational Sports Department. Later on, he worked as a personal trainer and lifeguard at the YMCA in Norfolk, VA, as well as the Fitness Director at Norfolk State University.

Matthew Ludwick and Mixed Martial Arts

For about 4 years, Matthew Ludwick has been training to do MMA, under the Gracie method of fighting. He received his blue belt from Rener Gracie in 2012. You can see Rener as the cornerman for the infamous Ronda Rousey in any of her fights.

Matthew Ludwick trained at the Norfolk Karate Academy for his ground and grappling style and Buschido Mixed Martial Arts for his stand up game, where he received his red belt in Muai Thai.

In April 2013, Matthew Ludwick fought in the Spartyka Fight League competition and defeated his opponent Chris Wilkerson with a second round rear naked choke after taking a beating in the first round. From 2012-2016 he has also competed in the Hampton Roads, Virginia "Good Fight" jiu-jitsu competitions, in the 148 featherweight division.
