Give me a little free time, and I’ll hit the road – the effect of having grown up abroad. I was born in Germany and spent my teenage years in Belgium and Russia. Living overseas presented me with extraordinary opportunities for exploration, more than I probably appreciated at the time…

I was able to travel to more than 40 countries throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa. I explored the Angkor Wat temples in Cambodia. I rode a camel around the three pyramids of Giza in Egypt. I saw a group of lions while on a safari in South Africa. I climbed to the top of Mount Fuji in Japan.

Most importantly, I was afforded the opportunity to see the world through the eyes of other cultures. I made friends from all around the globe and from all walks of life. This has given me an understanding of multiple viewpoints and the ability to put myself in “someone else’s shoes,” both of which have served me well throughout my career and life.

When I’m not traveling, I love spending time with my family. The oldest of six children, I cherish the few times we have all together. I take my responsibilities as “big brother” very seriously, even though we children have all left the nest. Family is and will always be the most important thing to me.
