Matthew Pidgeon
Matthew Pidgeon began his career in political consulting and public affairs more than 15 years ago.
In 1995 Cincinnati Councilman Todd Portune hired Matt as his media consultant and pollster. During that election cycle, Matt was also retained as pollster and strategist for the Hamilton County Ohio Mental Health Levy. In 2002, Matt served on Pat Quinn's transition, and then joined the Lt. Governor's staff as a Policy Advisor and Legislative Liaison. In 2006, he consulted on East Central College's successful referendum to fund a new health sciences building.
Pat Quinn initially retained Matt as a political consultant in 2000. Matt helped to plan press conferences, create web sites, design campaign material and assist in strategy development for public policy initiatives supported by the former State Treasurer. When Pat Quinn ran for Lt. Governor in 2002, Matt also served on the campaign as a key strategist and organizer.
While on Lt. Governor Quinn's staff, Matt was a key member of the Lt. Governor's legislative team. In that capacity, he helped to develop and implement the Lt. Governor's legislative objectives including health care, military families, energy and elections. As a Legislative Liaison, Matt helped draft legislation, interact with members of the Illinois General Assembly and attend legislative committees.
Since leaving state government in 2004, Matt has maintained a close relationship with Governor Pat Quinn. He regularly consults with the Governor and his staff on a wide range of issues.
Today Matt is a Principal with Soar Governmental Affairs, where he manages numerous projects for a diverse portfolio of clients. In 2008, he served as the Ohio State Polling Director for Election Integrity. Currently, he serves as a political consultant for numerous political campaigns throughout the United States.
Matt resides in Kirkwood, Missouri. In his spare time he enjoys sailing and following St. Louis Cardinals Baseball.
